# Inspect a paid-plan handoff

Launch state: **Live**. Agents can register at /auth.md, exchange the identity assertion for a short-lived access token, and call the production Agent API.

`GET /api/agent/checkout-handoffs/{handoffRef}`

This is a human-facing endpoint protected by the existing Neotask web sign-in. The opaque handle is not authorization. The server returns details only when the signed-in tenant owns the handoff and the linked agent registration is active, claimed, and trusted.

The response lists the exact eligible plans, current displayed prices, expiration time, and confirmation request. A missing, foreign, or malformed handle is returned as `not_found` without tenant disclosure.

`mode` is `checkout` for an account without a Stripe subscription. It is `plan_change` for an existing Stripe subscriber: the account's current plan is returned, only higher plans are offered, and each option carries Stripe's own quote (`amountDueNowCents` prorated for the rest of the period, `nextRenewalAt` and `nextRenewalAmountCents`). An account billed through the App Store gets `app_store_subscription`; a subscription that is past due, unpaid, paused, incomplete or set to cancel gets `billing_action_required`. Both are refusals; neither starts a purchase.
