What is a No-Code AI Agent?

Where building a custom agent traditionally required a developer to write prompt logic, wire up API calls, and handle error cases in code, no-code agent builders expose those same capabilities through forms, drag-and-drop workflow builders, and natural-language configuration. A business user can specify that a new support ticket should be checked against the customer's plan tier, and if they're enterprise, a reply should be drafted and their account manager notified, and have that translated into an executable agent without touching a programming language. The tradeoff is expressiveness versus accessibility: no-code platforms cover the common patterns well but may hit a ceiling on highly custom logic that would be trivial in code. The best no-code agent platforms address this with an escape hatch, letting advanced users drop into a code step or custom API call for the specific piece that the visual builder can't express, while keeping the rest of the agent no-code.
