Track Free Usage
Open Usage to see remaining credits, model activity, and recent sessions. Open a session when you need to understand the usage behind a record.
The Free plan is a limited trial lane for using Neotask chat, connected apps, boards, and coding workflows before upgrading to a paid subscription.
Free users still cover their own hosted model/token usage. They can use starter credits, buy additional credits through Neotask, or use their own provider keys where supported. Free users do not receive overage. Local models on your computer are free.
Message Quota
Free usage has two phases:

Each allowed hosted-model message still requires available usage coverage. If credits are depleted, or the user's provider key has no balance, the message is blocked even if daily message quota remains.
Messages to a local model on your computer are free and do not count against these limits. See Models & Providers.
Included On Free
Free users can use:
- Main chat mode.
- Boards and live artifacts.
- The coding subpage for interactive coding tasks.
- App and integration connection flows.
- Connected apps inside allowed chat, boards, and coding usage.
- The system-managed daily memory learning job named
Learn from Daily Activities.
The daily memory learning job is a platform-maintained system task. It is not a user-created automation and is the only automation exception on Free.
Not Included On Free
Free users cannot:
- Run company tasks or company automations.
- Use an autonomous company in normal operating mode.
- Create, edit, run, or delete their own automations, cron jobs, reminders, or scheduled jobs.
- Add their own custom agents.
- Use overage after credits are depleted.
Company onboarding may be available so a user can preview or prepare a company, but the company dashboard remains locked until the account has at least an Individual subscription.
Apps, Credits, And API Keys
Free users can connect apps and provider accounts, but connecting an app does not unlock paid automation.
For model usage:
- Hosted credits use the user's Neotask credit balance.
- BYOK routes base provider token costs to the user's provider account.
- Free daily message limits still apply to hosted models in either mode.
- Free users must have enough credits or provider balance for each allowed hosted-model message.
- Local models on your computer need no credits or provider balance and do not count against the Free message limits.
- Free users get no overage, so exhausted credits or insufficient provider balance hard-stop usage.
When To Upgrade
Upgrade to at least Individual when you need company access, custom agents, or user-created automations. Business and Enterprise plans add company capacity, employee seats, setup-task allowances, and broader autonomous operations.
